Where

93 miles north of New York City lies its largest water source, the Ashokan Reservoir. This serene location in the Catskill Mountains is one of New York’s most beautiful places, but was once the home to towns and communities. In 1907, the Esopus Creek was impounded and their former home filled up to become one of the world’s largest reservoirs at that time.
